Khinalug

Khinalug, nestled in the breathtaking slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, is the highest and most remote village in Azerbaijan. It is located just an hour’s drive from Quba, and has a history that spans over 5,000 years. Khinalug offers a glimpse into ancient traditions and stunning landscapes. Perched at an altitude of around 2,200 meters, Khinalug is known for its remote and picturesque setting, accessible only by a winding mountain road that offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. The village has a maze of narrow stone-paved alleys, traditional stone houses, and terraced fields.

One of the highlights of Khinalug is its rich cultural heritage, with the village being home to a unique dialect, traditions, and customs that have been passed down through generations. The village is known for its unique weaving techniques and distinctive honey. Visitors love to collect mini carpets, woolen shawls and Khinalug honey as souvenirs while visiting.
